Plot[]
A three part dramatisation of Thomas Hardy's novel of 1873.
- Episode 1 - Cornish parson's daughter Elfride becomes the object of affection for two very different men.
- Episode 2 - After failing to marry Stephen, Elfride meets and falls in love with his mentor Henry.
- Episode 3 - After seeing Stephen at the church, Elfride procrastinates over telling Henry of her past.
