Badgers in my Vest is a radio play by John Fletcher. It was first broadcast on BBC Radio on 06 November 2003, as an installment of the Afternoon Play, marking the 50th anniversary of the death of Dylan Thomas[1].
Plot[]
Unfit to fight in World War II, Dylan Thomas spends his time in Newquay in the local pub, cadging drinks and being outrageous. Privately, he is terrified, suffering nightmares, and in the grip of writer's block. One night, a soldier comes in. Having found poetry a solace in the face of human brutality, he hopes to exchange views on beauty and truth with Thomas. Instead he is goaded to semi-hysteria and goes for his gun…
