Floating is a radio play by Hugh Hughes and Sioned Rowlands. Based on his stage play of the same name, it was first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 on 09 September 2011, as an installment of the Afternoon Play[1].

The play won a BBC Audio Drama Award in the category of Best Scripted Comedy Drama.


On April 2nd 1982, the Isle of Anglesey separated from the mainland of Wales and floated off into the North Atlantic. Emerging artist Hugh Hughes and his friend Sioned, recount the story of this extraordinary geological event, and explain its personal significance.
