Howard Barker (born 28 June 1946) is a British playwright. He has written for radio, theatre, and television. His most famous radio play is Scenes from an Execution starring Glenda Jackson, which won a Prix Italia award in 1985.

His work is known for its intense, unflinching examination of violence, sexuality, and power. In addition to his original radio plays, several of his stage plays have been adapted for the radio as well.
