Invitation to the Waltz is a radio play by Tina Pepler, adapted from the novel by Rosamund Lehmann. It was first broadcast on BBC Radio on 26 May 2001, as an installment of the Saturday Play.

Plot[]

Rosamund Lehmann's tender classic about a young girl's adolescent rite of passage. Olivia wakes up on her seventeenth birthday knowing that something has changed, but what exactly it is she doesn't yet understand. Her very first dance, a week later, brings the opportunity to try her wings in the wider world.
