Marilyn Imrie was for 12 years a BBC drama producer in radio and television in Scotland before she moved to London to devise and launch the BBC R4 soap Citizens. During this period she won two TRIC awards for Radio productions, Two Sony awards for production and performance, and the Samuel Beckett award for her television drama production Paris from BBC Scotland for BBC 2.
She was commissioning editor Radio 4 plays until 1999, when she joined the award winning Independent company CBL, for whom she is development producer for screen and radio drama; she was part of the production team that won for the company both the Sony Gold and Silver drama awards , and a recent Sony nomination for the production Mortimer’s Miscellany.
