Titus Groan

Titus Groan is a radio play by Brian Sibley, based on the novel by Mervyn Peake It was first broadcast on BBC Radio 4 in 1984. The running time is 90 minutes. It won a Sony Award for Best Dramatization.

Plot[]

Set in the isolated and voluminous Gormenghast Castle, the story follows the birth and childhood of Titus Groan, 77th Earl and Lord of Gormenghast, in tandem with Steerpike, a ruthlessly ambitious young kitchen servant. An epic gothic fantasy populated with Dickensian grotesques.
